Home Warranty
Is purchasing a home warranty worth it? Most home warranty companies will not repair something that was defective prior to purchasing the warranty. Most even frown on repairs within the first 30 days of purchasing the warranty. Make sure you ask questions before you purchase any home warranty. Is it worth it, I would say yes, especially depending on the age of the home. How home warranties work is when you call in for service, you call a main number and they will contact the service contractor on your behalf. The contractor will then call and schedule a time with you and will charge you a deductible when they meet you at your home to do repairs. The deductible is usually $50.00 - $100.00 depending on what your contract says, but its much better than $1500.00 for a new air conditioner compressor or heater. Most home warranty companies will cover items like plumbing, heat & air, air ducts, garbage disposal, refrigerator, electrical, and so on
